There are many PYO farms in the UK,  you can pick your own fruit and vegetables. Fruit ranging from strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, currants, cherries, to apples, plums.  For vegetables, you can pick pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumbers, lentils, corn and many others. After hard work (picking), with your harvest, definitely you will feel that the fruit is sweeter and taster.

From the middle of June, you can pick the lovely strawberry- the children’s favorite, go and pick with your family.

Garsons Farm

Garsons is the largest PYO farm in the United Kingdom. It is located next to Hersham Riverside Park in the Surrey area around London. It’s history more than 100 years. Garsons Farm also supplied a variety of vegetables and fruits to the surrounding villages/towns and the famous “Borough market”. Except a wide variety of fruit and vegetable picking, there are also a large garden center, a somall zoo, activity center, restaurant, barbecue venue, etc.,  suitable for the family to spend a happy weekend together.

Millets Farm

Millets Farm is located in Abingdon, southwest of Oxfordshire. It is a family farm with garden center, playground, Softplay, restaurant, fishing club, etc. There is even a Falconry Centre.
The quality of the fruit is very good, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, plums, etc. are all very delicious. In addition, there are plenty of fun facilities at the playground, like sandpits, coin-operated excavators and tractors. Other activities you can enjoy including animals walk, falcon shows, carousel. Notice there will be a annual circus performances event. The food in the restaurant is also very good, however, the restaurant is temporarily closed during Covid-19.
If you like fishing, here is Millets Farm Fly Fishing Club where you can enjoy the 4 acres of pond.

Parkside Farm

Parkside Farm is around London. It started from 1938. Since 1979, it has provided 4 acres of strawberry farm PYO. Now the total PYO area is nearly 50 acres with about 20 different crops grown! The most popular picking is ofc the lovely strawberries,  others picking choices including raspberries, blackcurrants, plums, and fresh vegetables.

Hill Farm, Cambridgeshire

Hill Farm is a very popular self-picking farm in Cambridge shire. Mainly grow a variety of berries, the farm also sells home-brewed honey. And the ground is also a camping ground.

Court Farm & Leisure

This farm is located in West Midlands, near Cotswold, a fairy tale town, and is one of the best pick your own farms in the UK. Not only picking vegetables and fruits, but also you can do fishing. There are two fish ponds, the day fish pond and the night fish pond. You must be at least 16 years or older. Most of the fish is carp.

Crockford Bridge Farm

This one is also in Surrey, about 20 kilometres southwest of London, picturesque. There are many kinds of vegetables and fruits that can be picked. The farm also has its own home-brewed honey. There are events during the festival, such as picking Halloween pumpkins, visiting Santa, etc.

The Balloon Tree in Gate Helmsley, Yorkshire

The farms in Yorkshire have many fruits and vegetables that can be picked, as well as animal corners, children’s play areas, seasonal events, etc. There also plenty of variety of products in the farm shop.

Stanhill Farm

Not far from Blue Water shopping center, you can pick and go shopping in the same day. The main picking is strawberries, but there are also blueberries, blackberries and other crops. The farm is not big, basically 1-2 hours is enough if you don’t factor in the big maze (Now closed, waiting for further notice).

Located in Lymington, near Southampton, profession strawberry farm but not very large, there are many other picking like fresh potatoes, blueberries, raspberries and cherries. Depending on the season,

Not a big farm yet there are many kinds of fruits and vegetables for picking. The most famous thing is the big red strawberry at the farm entrance.

Located near Birmingham. This farm specializes in all kinds of berries, strawberry raspberry blueberry blackberry. During Covid-19, the drive-through service was also opened.

Essington Farm

This farm in the northern suburbs of Birmingham with a long history. The business started since 1892 and there are about thirty kinds of fruits and vegetables available for picking now. Essington Farm’s pork and beef are also very famous, after picking you can buy some fresh meat and take it home.

Claremont Farm

This farm in the southwest of Liverpool is also the place of the weekend fun, many things you can do like picking, fishing, outreach training, and even a small chef school, as well as home-grown honey. Bellis Farm is a historic farm located in Dee Valley, South Wales. There are even some World War I photos on their website. The surrounding scenery is very nice. In addition of strawberry picking, there are also a garden center and restaurant.

Tips:

1. Check the farm’s website to see what can be picked and make a plan of your schedule.
2. During Covid-19, some farm PYOs need to be booked, make sure before you leave home.
3. In principle, you cannot eat fruit during picking, you can only do it after paid.
